Born the son of a mechanic and machinist, he learned the ethics of hard work at a very young age. In the United States Army, Tom was trained to maintain a fleet of construction equipment and fleet vehicles. He specialized in hydraulics and pump equipment. After his military service, he worked as a mechanic for others but was uncomfortable with the constant upsell of the customer. Due to that experience, his mobile service business was born and operated for over twenty years until he and his wife decided to relocate to Middle Tennessee.
